Brand – Studio Amelia

.

Realised between London and Sydney, Studio Amelia launched in May 2019. From the start, the brand refused to adhere to the mass collection approach that the industry has come to live by and instead vowed to focus on two core releases a year.

Furthermore, from the very beginning, Studio Amelia’s founder directly engaged with her customer to gather direct feedback on the design and development process with the overall aim of better understanding what her customer really needed from her product to ensure optimised sales and reduced waste.

We understand the responsibility we have as a business to support others in the same way our customers support us - in both the good times, and the bad.

Further still, we think it is important to not only make one-off donations, but also build a long-term behaviour that supports giving back not just now but well into the future.

In order to achieve this, we have proudly partnered with i=Change who enable customers through our online store to choose from one of three of our selected charities for us to automatically donate to on their behalf - each and every time an order is placed.

Below is a summary of our charity partners, and the impact of our customers’ donations:

Educate A Girl

In the slums of Calcutta, where young girls rarely are sent to school and are often forced into child marriages, child labour or sex trafficking, Her Future Coalition ensures girls break this cycle through quality education.

Impact: $1.50 provides a high quality education for a girl in a Calcutta slum.

Restore The Reef

As the world's largest living organism, The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most bio-diverse places on earth. The Reef also supports the culture and livelihoods of 70 Traditional Owner groups who have been custodians for over 60,000 years. Currently under threat due to climate change, the reef has lost 50% of it's coral. Greening Australia and Traditional Owners are working to restore wetlands and eroded landed by 2030 and prevent 400,000 tonnes of sediment from polluting of The Reef each year.

Impact: $50 prevents 1 tonne of sediment from reaching the Great Barrier Reef.

Empower Survivors

More than 40 million people are enslaved across the world, one in four of those are children and 71% of those are women. Hagar works across Asia, supporting women and children to rebuild their lives. The organisation ensures survivors are provided with special trauma counselling, a safe place to live, legal advice and medical care.

Impact: $3 pays for a day of food for a survivor of human trafficking and slavery.
